Support for SMEs

Libreville, 2 February 2023 - The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Okoumé Capital are joining forces to support the development of local SMEs through the signing of a technical and financial partnership aimed at contributing to the establishment of an ecosystem conducive to private investment in the green economy and innovation.

Libreville, Gabon, 19 January 2023 – On 18 January 2023, the Société de Garantie du Gabon (SGG) and the Banque Internationale pour le Commerce et l'Industrie du Gabon (BICIG) signed a portfolio guarantee agreement, a credit risk-sharing instrument to help support Gabonese Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The Société de Garantie du Gabon (SGG), a company dedicated to bank guarantees, an initiative of the Gabonese Sovereign Wealth Fund (FGIS), supported by its subsidiary Okoumé Capital, officially launches its activities. The approval obtained according to Order No. 066.22/MER issued on 2 November 2022 by the National Economic and Financial Committee allows, in accordance with the provisions set out, to start most of its activities in its core business.
